Interested in getting an education in a city with both cowpokes and culture? The Westwood College – Fort Worth Campus provides students a career-focused education in the 17th largest city in the United States. The 45,000 square foot campus is only 20 miles from the Fort Worth/Dallas International Airport. Nicknamed the city “Where the West Begins,” Fort Worth has more of an authentic “western” feel than its cosmopolitan neighbor Dallas.
Fort Worth has often been ranked as one of the best places in the nation to live and work by a variety of financial and travel magazines. There are many cultural attractions, including the Stockyards Museum, Cattle Raisers Museum and the National Cowgirl Museum and Hall of Fame, along with many art galleries. Students enjoy the central shopping and Sundance Square dining district during the day and the many musical venues and restaurants at night.
The city is home to many major industries, including cattle, aviation and defense. Many large employers have headquarters in Fort Worth, providing students internship and employment opportunities.
The large campus features classroom, administrative and laboratory space. Along with the variety of hands-on programs, the Fort Worth Campus offers student services such as tutoring and resource guides. Many program-specific clubs and societies operate on campus, and guest speakers make frequent presentations. Other Fort Worth colleges have social activities, but Westwood takes it to another level with activities including Westwood Idol, Fall Festival, summer cook outs and Greet the Troops events.
