According to the U.S. Department of Labor, employment in medical assisting roles is expected to grow 34 percent over the next decade, much faster than the average for all occupations. The healthcare industry is projected to be one of the fastest-growing fields overall.1 Students attending a medical assisting college in Texas are becoming a crucial part of our healthcare system!
Westwood College offers a medical assisting diploma or associate program that provides the experience and skills to prepare students for a wide range of jobs within the medical field. Students in the diploma program learn both in the classroom and in a functioning medical office through a 160-hour externship. Courses include medical terminology, patient relations, phlebotomy and principles of patient care.
