Graphic Design: Major in Visual Communications

Students learn how to create stunning and effective layouts with a degree from a visual communications college in Texas. The visual communications program at Westwood College gives students the training they need to earn an entry-level job leading to careers in the fields of communication management or graphic design.*

Students learn career-focused skills from faculty members who are professionals in the design industry. Courses in Print Production, Advanced Image Editing and Package Design pair students artistic talents with marketable techniques and skills. Students also develop important real-world proficiencies in logic, problem solving and project management.

When graduating from the program, students have a portfolio demonstrating their mastery of design theory and technology. Students are also prepared to take tests for Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Dreamweaver, and Photoshop.**

The visual communications program is available at the Westwood College campuses in Dallas, Fort Worth and Houston South.

 

*Graduates without experience in the field will likely start in entry-level positions. Position titles and responsibilities may vary by hiring company.
**Westwood does not certify graduates in this field. Graduates wishing to attain certification must take and pass any applicable tests/exams. State and local restrictions may apply and additional training may be required.
